Pitch-black

(Wrote this poem a long time back, posting it after some editing)

These walls grow thicker,
And i don't think i care, if
I suffocate in this bloody hell.
The air is poisoned by my thoughts,
and it penetrates through these walls.
I've learned to live a way,
like i never have had before.
Confines and dungeons are my haven,
And its so painful to walk the world.
I despise myself,
With no one else to blame but me.
The road that less traveled by,
Is abandoned by hopes,
It's a graveyard where the angels fear to tread.
With miles and miles to walk,
I stagger.hurt,stitched and scarred.
Though it's painful to walk alone,
I don't want anyone to break this silence,
I don't like to see any faces on my way.
I'll walk on the deserts,
I'll walk on the mountains,
all alone,on my own....

My Friday night rhapsody...

I am a Wild spirit,
I am on a wild spree.
I am a bull dozer,
you'll get rolled over.
The world is my playground,
and I'm playin' around
I have no rules....
I am no time bound!
My legs are rock solid,
I can carry the whole  world on my shoulder,
They can't mess with my mind, I am a saint of tomorrow,
I can look right into the eye of a tornado,
I'll call a photographer,say cheese and get a photo!
While the rest of 'em people go gaga running for covers.
I am a wild beast,I am unleashed
I am on a prowl tonight,
So don't come my way,sit your ass tight!
(haaa,haa!!)

Welcome to Crunk Rock...

The First time i heard Lil Jon was in Usher's song "Yeah",I loved that song but Usher and Ludacris dominated the song Lil Jon was pushed to the back seat. Then I heard Lil Jon in Pitbull's song "Crazy" Though I am a big fan of Pitbull, I wasn't that much impressed with that song,But Lil Jon made his  presence felt in the song  and he gave it a different flavor! And recently i get to listen to this track by Lil Jon "I Don't give a f*#K"  featuring several other artists. Now dat was one hell of  a rap number i've ever listened to...so i started searching for his songs and i downloaded his last released solo album "Crunk Rock".Thanks to torrentz !:D .(the album was released in 2010,I wonder how it evaded me the last 2 yrs!!! :(  )

I have some favorite tracks in this album like "Ms.Chocolate","Like a stripper","Shots","outta your mind"..But there is this one particular track that tops the others.I kept playing it like all thru my workout today and on my way back home. The song's named "Killas" featuring Ice Cube,Elephant man,The Game along with Lil jon(all the bad "motherf**#ers" come together for this song!!)This track is a fusion of hip hop and Rock. The song's filled with a great level of energy. Its all about the gangster world which is filled with attitude, weapons, narcissism, violence and vengeance. The lyrics of course are explicit! But u get the clean version too!!which i wouldn't recommend as it kills the feel of the song. But as far as the music is concerned its got the best of both worlds. It's power packed and when your working out in ur gym with ur testosterone level surging, this song, for sure can bring out the beast in you....Long live Hip Hop,in whatever form it evolves into and all the bad mean rappers who bust their guts off  to produce great music to entertain all the hip hop fans like me :)

A Lover's night...

The moon's lighting the darkest night,
and the whole world's gone to sleep.
I don't want to close my eyes,
Girl,I want to see you.
You are my december wind on a sunny day,
The only thing on my mind when i wake up everyday
You walked into my life, you cast a spell..
Keep me falling for you every time I see you.
I am lost for words with your love.
One smile, one look...you've made my day!
Sometimes, it don't matter even if i don't  see you
Because it's like you are everywhere!
I want to feel your heartbeat,
I want to hold you close,
I want to hear you say that you love me,
I want to hear you say my name in your sleep,
I want to hold your hands, walk a million miles...
I want to live a thousand lifes, with you..

Long gone..

The cold wind penetrates my skin,
As I run down these empty streets,
Unwilling to look back.
Unaware of my bleeding wounds,
That could leave a trail to
the ghosts that I eluded.
I make this escapade,
Not knowing where I'll be tomorrow..

Plagiarism in Tamil Cinema...

I am starting to wonder whatever happened to "creativity" in Tamil cinema.A majority of the recent flicks seems to be an out and out copy of Hollywood movies. To list a few,
1.Deiva thirumagal- Now this movie is a remake of the Sean Penn starrer "I am Sam",The director of the movie Vijay has copied each and every detail including the costume and hairstyles of the protagonist of the latter movie. But,when the reporters asked him about the resemblances of the two movies,He denied the fact and stated that his movie was a work of his own and He hadn't copied it.Now does he think that the audiences are idiots??I don't think there's anything wrong in getting inspired by a movie and trying to incorporate it in another script. But copying a movie as it is and trying to get credits for the work is Shameful.
2.Kho - I would say this has been "inspired" by the Hollywood flick "State of play" starring Russell Crowe and Ben affleck. The reason i use the term "inspired" is that though both the stories revolves around the press and politics and their effects on one another. The stories seems to be quite different.
3.Muran - This one's copied from the Alfred Hitchcock movie"Strangers on a train".!!the director has gone little back in time,it was a movie released in 1950's!!
4.Aadugalam - The director has openly stated that he had made the movie after watching "Amores perros" a mexican movie not to forget his debut "Pollathavan" was a copy of "Bicycle thieves" a popular Italian movie...
I 've mentioned only a few movies here actually the list runs for pages...!!
I don't wanna finish this list without a Special mention about Gowtham menon,One of the popular directors in the recent times, who to me is a culprit. All of his movies so far happen to be "ditto's" of hollywood movies,To mention a few"Nadunisi naaigal" is a copy of The famous hollywood movie "Psycho", "Vinnaithaandi varuvaaya" - Was copied from the Hollywood movie"500 days of summer","Vettaiyadu villayadu" - Sandra bullock starrer,"Murder by numbers"...Plagiarism is there not only in movies but in movie songs too..The music directors lift a tune and use it in their songs, its like a karoke in the end!!!To list a few,
Vijay Antony's-"Unakenna Naan" is a copy of Rihanna's"Unfaithful",Harris jeyaraj's "Karu karu vizhigalal" is a copy of Westlife's "Hit you with the real thing",Joshua Sridar's "Oru Devathai veesidum paarvaiyile" is a copy of Daniel Beddingfield's "He don't love you like I do" Those are just a few of the many copy cat songs...!!

Plagiarism is one of the reasons why i have no regard for tamil movies or songs. These people need to evolve. They are just running around in circles.I think what they do is (like my English teacher use to say..)"put their brains in their freezers!!" ,take four or five  Dvds of movies which are box-office hits and pick one to make a tamil movie or in some cases blend more than one movie together to make a tamil movie, same applies to songs!!!This isn't good for the "directors!".With the advent of the internet and piracy, people are getting to watch a lot of foreign language films and are listening to a wide range of songs...It won't be long before you are stripped of your honors - Directors and Music Directors of "Kollywood"it's high time, you wake up and respond to the changes....
